The University of Brighton has won a €751,000 (£641,000) grant to study the emerging problem of violent attacks by children on their parents and carers, leading the research is Dr Paula Wilcox.

If you are looking for a solution to fit the family support structure of the UK don’t bother to waste your time reading any further. If however you want stop this and the majority of parent/child relationship issues we have something to share with you.
The reason the majority of current offerings of ‘interventions’ don’t work is exactly that, it’s an intervention, action after the problem becomes a problem.
The reason the majority of ‘parenting’ programmes don’t work is they are focused on the behaviour of the children based on a deficit model.
The reason the majority of ‘practitioners’ don’t get engagement from their clients is because they make their clients feel failures and stigmatised.
Over the last 10 years we have pioneered a unique programme using advanced coaching and emotional literacy techniques, underpinned by Neuroscience, to change the parent/child relationships. This approach has been co-created with 1,000’s of children, young people, parents and professionals working in homes, schools and Children’s Centre’s.
We are just completing a £77,000, 2-year Big Lottery grant to roll out our Parent Champion programme in 2 Children’s Centre’s with transformational outcomes. I’ve attached an independent evaluation by Canterbury Christ Church University and our own evaluation to accompany another Big Lottery grant to take our approach into mainstream education working with the teachers, parents and students together, to change the culture of the learning environment.
